Love that style! Is it possible somehow to display the thread and post count for the categories on the forum home?

Hi Andy, thanks for your comments and glad you like the theme! XenDark doesn't remove anything Xenforo has by default - for example it includes the thread/post count for individual node rows if that's what you're referring to, though not for entire categories.

The theme starts with the stats using an icon instead of "Threads" or "Replies" label, but this can be changed back in:
Style Properties -> Node/forum list

Let me know if you need any other help,
-Robert

Sorry andy I was incorrect:
This can be changed at Style Properties -> Node/forum list -> Node stats location (change this back to "default")

Let me know if this works for you,

Andy, I did a little digging into this and turns out there's indeed a theme bug for the node stats - I will push an update for XenDark today containing this fix. Thanks for bringing it to attention,

-Robert I.

This new setting allows blocks to be flattened and lose their container appearance, with no border, padding, or background. The flattened style will use a more floating appearance with inner content sitting over the body background. Useful for themes with minimal UI. (Available via the Blocks property group.)
    • Added new Footer Text properties to Basic Colors. (footerTextColor, footerTextColorDimmed, footerTextColorMuted, footerLinkColor, footerLinkHoverColor). Applied all properties within the Footer and [Nulumia] Advanced Footer groups
    • Added new Label Subtle property
    • Removed the "nl" prefix from several commonly used custom properties:
      • @xf-nlBlockHeadPaddingV -> @xf-blockHeadPaddingV
      • @xf-nlBlockHeadPaddingH -> @xf-blockHeadPaddingH
      • @xf-nlBlockFooterHeight -> @xf-blockFooterHeight
      • @xf-nlContentPadding-> @xf-contentPadding

    • Added new properties to style links in the Staff bar
    • Fixed some bugs related to moving the Visitor Tabs placement to the top bar or logo row area
    • Improved the appearance of dropdown menus and spacing from their parent elements
  • Sidebar
    • Extended the sidebar properties to affect other sidebar locations, such as the Resource section and sidebars introduced by other addons
    • Improved spacing of elements within sidebar content rows
  • Forums & Node List
    • Improved appearance of the regular node list in all themes
    • Fixed a default Xenforo bug where last post author names would be clipped without using an ellipsis (...)
    • Fixed a bug where the node stats would not appear
    • Reactivated the alternating row colors setting for the node list
    • Improved contrast between hover & alternating row colors in all themes for better UI

  • Member Profiles
    • Added new properties to style header labels, popup profiles and other elements
    • Usernames now always use Capitalized format. All uppercase usage has been removed from various themes
    • Changed the large user avatar on member profiles to a square format by default
  • Footer

Currently i'm on 2.1.6.2. Can i just take the newest (2.1.8.1) and update it, or do i have to update first to 2.1.8.0?

You could try importing the template with "Skip import checks" turned on, which will avoid the message that your theme is made on a different version. However I can't verify for certain if the theme will still work without errors on XF 2.1.6.

Thank you for your answer. I don't mean the XF version, first i will upgrade my XF to the latest version, then upgrade the style. I mean if i then can upgrade my current style version directly to the latest one? And is it only required to import the xml without uploading / overwriting all the files?

Edit// I did overwrite all files and imported / overwriting the xml. Everythings seems to be working. One question, is it possible, to re-enable the hover effect on the forum list?

Hey andy, glad to hear the update worked out for you. It's generally ok to import a style on a different version of Xenforo as long as it's within only a single first-digit or several second-digit versions. When doing so, always be sure there's no security related introductions in the latest Xenforo which would not be merged or present in the outdated templates.

Regarding the hover node colors, unfortunately this feature was meant to run only in the pro themes framework and was left in an earlier build of XenDark by mistake, my apologies.

You can manually add this by adding to extra.less:
Less:
.node-body {
    transition: .2s background;
}
.node:hover .node-body {
    background: @xf-contentHighlightBg;
}
Let me know if you have any questions,

-Robert I.

Hello Robert,

Perfect thank you, that is looking awesome with that hover effect! I have some more questions.

- Is it correct, that the text for the forums is now brighter (a more white color) by default?
- Are some links inside the right sidebar (Widget name) now underlined when the mouse over (like in the picture)?

1128

- There seems to be a display issue withe error messages, or shouldn't these be vertically centered?
1129

Best Regards and thank you for your help
Andy

Sorry for the delay checking into that alignment bug, this and other similar instances are being improved in the new patch which is being wrapped up.

Regarding the text links, the UI and colors were recently tweaked a bit in the latest patch, with less emphasis on transitioning colors and more on underline-based links for a crisper appearance.

There is another question i have:)

When you add a description to a forum or category, this was showed up below the forum / category name. Now it shows up when you hover over the forum / category name. Is this a setting to change or is it hardcoded?

This was changed back to the default Xenforo method, which is to display via hover tooltip for a cleaner appearance. But there also shouldn't be any further changes from the initial theme version as the intended UI is more established now(y)

This can be changed back using the normal Xenforo option via:
Style Properties -> Node / discussion list -> Description display style
